3 Months in Azerbaijan, Baku

Already in Azerbaijan, Baku for 3 months. Life has been busy over here with a hectic 3G project, expected to leave here on 18 Dec 2009.



For the past 3 months, met some Malaysian, a group of people working for Ship yard company belong to Keppel. The company also owns a apartment hotel and chinses restaurant with Malaysian chef. My customer like the food there and used to go there for dinner on weekend plus Karaoke.



I missed my family, wife and 2 kids so much. I also worry about my investment, the bird house. I have no status about it now and hope to go check and see its when I returned home. Hope there is increase of bird nest in the BH!!

Good News - Malaysia in big push on swiftlet nest output

It is a great news for Swiftlet Farmer as Malaysia Government wants to make bird's nest farming one of the important industry. Currently it already help generate income of RM1 billion yearly.

Malaysia is expected to have 100,000 swiftlet nest farms by 2020 and capable of producing 500 tonnes of bird nests worth RM5 billion a year for the world market. Agriculture and Agrobased Industry Minister Datuk Noh Omar said last year, 250 tonnes of bird nests worth RM1 billion were produced from 50,000 swiftlet farms in the country. "Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wants the swiftlet nest farming to be a big industry in the country and the ministry will work to achieve it," he said when opening a seminar on "Iskandar Malaysia-China Bird Nest Business Opportunity 2009 in Johore Baru last night. Noh said one of the Key Performance Index (KPI) of the ministry was to make bird's nest farming one of the important industry in Malaysia.
He said that on April 1 this year, the Cabinet agreed that the Veterinary Service Department be the lead agency in the development of the country's swiftlet nest industry. -- Bernama
